Bernie Gracy is the EVP and Chief Digital Officer at Monotype where he oversees a range of teams and functions, including digital commerce; digital transformation; platform and foundry product management, marketing, and operations; customer service; brand; and PR. Bernie also serves as Managing Director for Extensis, a Monotype company. He previously held Sr. Executive positions at Agero and Cimpress.

Bernie is very active within the New England tech community. He serves on the Advisory Board and as Membership Chair of BostonCIO; is a founding member of the AWS New England Executive Advisory Council; and mentors high-potential talent as part of the Next Generation Leader program. Bernie also lectures annually on disruptive new product introduction at the University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business.

Bernie was awarded CIO of the Year (New England) by BostonCIO and was honored in the Constellation Research BT150 in 2019. In 2021 Bernie and his team won the CIO 100 Award for digital transformation. He is a member of the Academy of Distinguished Engineers at the University of Connecticut and holds an MS in e-Commerce from the University of Maryland, an MS in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Connecticut. He has 8 patents.

Outside of work, Bernie is President of the Averill Lakes Association.
